Transit from Naples to Pompeii
The most convenient and direct transit from Naples is the Circumvesuviana commuter train departing from Napoli Piazza Garibaldi towards Sorrento. Disembark at Pompei Scavi / Villa dei Misteri station, located directly 50 meters from the Porta Marina Superiore entrance.
During spring and summer, you can also ride the air-conditioned Campania Express tourist train for higher comfort and reserved seating.
Reaching Pompeii from Rome
Take a high-speed Frecciarossa or Italo train from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale (1 hour 10 minutes), then connect downstairs to the Circumvesuviana train (35 minutes) or book a direct day tour transfer.
